Licensing Cams
Cams license fees are based on the instances of Cams policy servers
that are running, the maximum number of users who can concurrently
authenticate to each Cams policy server instance and the number
of Cams web agents deployed to your production site. Cams policy
server 100, 250, 500, 1000 and unlimited concurrent user licenses
are available. Minimally, customers purchase one Cams policy server
for production, one Cams web agent and one developer license for
development and testing. Government, educational and volume discounts
are available. Please submit a request
for a formal quotation.
Licensees are required to supply the IP address for each computer
on which you will be running a Cams policy server. Each Cams policy
server license includes 30 days of software
maintenance service. Annual maintenance contracts are recommended
as part of an ongoing support and upgrade strategy.
30-day Cams evaluation licenses are available
free-of-charge with no obligation. Evaluation licenses provide
the complete functionality of purchased Cams licenses, but are limited
by the number of concurrent sessions and by an expiration date.
Evaluation license keys are sent by email after you register for
the evaluation.
How many concurrent sessions will you need for your Cams policy
server license?
When a Cams policy server successfully authenticates a user, a
session is created. The session exists until it is explicitly closed
(logout) by the user or expired (timeout) due to inactivity. The
number of concurrent sessions you will require is a function of
the size of your user community, how often each user authenticates
to your site (especially at peak loads) and how long each user session
is typically active. This number varies widely from site to site.
In some cases, especially for internally focused deployments, customers
need the capacity to enable all users to have concurrent sessions.
At most sites, especially externally facing ones, it is a small
percentage (10 percent or less) of the overall user community size.

NOTE: When your concurrent session
threshold is reached, a log entry is made and a warning email is
sent to the address that is registered for the Cams license keys.
The email notification will continue to be sent not more than once
every two hours. You must contact Cafésoft to purchase more
capacity if your concurrent session limit is breached.
Software Maintenance
Newly purchased Cams licenses include 30 days of software maintenance
and support services. Cafésoft charges 20 percent of license
fees annually for software maintenance services. This price is applicable
for new licenses and annual maintenance renewals only. Users who
let their software maintenance service contract lapse will be charged
reinstatement fees.
License Upgrades
Cams licenses scale with usage at your site. You can upgrade your
Cams policy server license at any time to a higher number of concurrent
sessions.
Payment Terms
We accept payment by:

You will be asked to submit purchase orders on your company stationary
for each order via fax or as an email attachment. Payment for all
purchase transactions is due upon receipt unless specified otherwise.
First time customers will receive 60 day license keys upon receipt
of the initial order. Permanent license keys are issued upon receipt
of payment.
All software and documentation are delivered in electronic format
via the Internet, which may eliminate shipping and sales
tax charges.
Full-featured evaluation licenses for all Cafésoft products are
available for download at no charge. For this reason, Cafésoft
does not accept order cancellations or make refunds on purchases unless
specifically required by agreements made between you and Cafésoft.
