NEWS RELEASE
Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Chooses Cams
Web Single Sign-on Access Management Software Solution
San Diego, CA August 11, 2004 Cafésoft, a
leading provider of web single sign-on and access management solutions,
today announced that the Cafésoft Access Management System
(Cams) was chosen to secure Arrowhead General Insurance Agency's
Arrowhead Exchange project. Arrowhead Exchange is a mission critical
suite of protected online services that enable Arrowhead's network
of independent agents and business partners to create and maintain
insurance policies, and conduct e-business with Arrowhead.
Arrowhead is currently using Cams to secure internal web applications
hosted in a J2EE-based Tomcat server. Cams will provide Arrowhead
Exchange with standard web single sign-on and access control as
well as a custom security implementation to protect resources using
rules specific to Arrowhead's business. These Arrowhead business
rules will determine access privileges for authenticated insurance
agents based upon appointments to specific lines of insurance business
(personal automotive, homeowners, earthquake, etc.) in specific
states and with specific insurance programs. The Cams-based security
system will also enable authorized Arrowhead customer service representatives
to impersonate or assume the identity of insurance agents while
assisting them.
"We are excited to provide a web security software solution
and integration design that will be the security foundation for
the next generation of Arrowhead Exchange," said Gary Gwin,
Cafésoft president and CEO. "Using Cams' flexible and
open APIs, we've extended Cams for Arrowhead to secure resources
based on Arrowhead's business rules."
Arrowhead Exchange requires Cams integration with a BEA WebLogic
8.1 J2EE application server cluster and Microsoft IIS web servers.
The backend user directory is hosted in a MSSQL database (which
is used for the user directory and to maintain insurance agency
relationships). Future applications may involve use of Cams to provide
security for web services.
"Cams provides us with a way to centralize our security resources
which in turn will help to offload certain responsibilities from
our development staff," said Stephen Boyd, vice president of
information systems at Arrowhead General Insurance Agency. "Developing
a robust and secure application infrastructure takes a significant
amount of time and energy. We are excited at the proposition of
what Cams will do to help streamline this process here at Arrowhead."
