History
Cafésoft is a privately held company
with headquarters in San Diego, California. Gary Gwin and Norbert
Kuhnert founded the company in March 1996 at the beginning of the
Java revolution.
Cafésoft was one of the first companies to
discover server-side Java by using the Javasoft "Jeeves" Web Server
(later to become the Java Web Server). The company also struck up
a relationship with then WebLogic, becoming their first business
partner in Southern California.
Throughout the Internet bubble, Cafésoft
developed expertise crafting the expanding server-side Java programming
interfaces to create secure e-commerce solutions. To date, Cafésoft
has successfully implemented projects for customers in the insurance,
finance, travel and education markets.
In the fall of 2001, Cafésoft turned
its attention to development of software security products. This
development effort has resulted in the creation of the Cams. Cams
is web single sign-on security solution with centrally managed authentication
and access control for Apache, Microsoft IIS, BEA WebLogic, JBoss,
Oracle 9iAS, Tomcat and other web and J2EE application servers.
