Web Identity and Access Management at Your Business
Some corporate call centers spend as much as 60 percent of their
time helping users to create accounts, figure out forgotten passwords
and otherwise gain access to systems and applications. This support
nightmare existed long before the Internet gained popularity, but
has been amplified by the Internet's success.
Both Goldman Sachs and IDC believe that the market for identity
and access management (IAM) is still in a nascent stage, with web
single sign-on and user provisioning being two of the fastest growing
product categories in software. According to their research, which
queried 100 CIOs about their IAM spending plans, the IAM market
is viewed too simplistically and has significant upside, especially
considering the myriad of web servers deployed in divisions, subsidiaries
and business units of the Fortune 1000, state and local government
agencies and other organizations.
IDC reports that total worldwide revenue for identity and access
management was $3.15 billion in 2007 and is forecast to reach more
than $5.33 billion by 2012, which translates to an 11.1% compounded
annual growth rate. IDC defines identity and access management as
a comprehensive set of solutions used to identify users in a system
-- such as employees, customers and contractors -- and control access
to resources within that system by associating user rights and restrictions
with their established identity.
What's driving the growth in web identity and access management?
Your business needs to take advantage of the opportunities presented
by the networked economy. But not at the risk of loosing valuable
data, or exposing confidential applications and information to untrusted
eyes. Web identity and access management is about much more than
simply setting up a database of users and defining rules. It's about
using security technology to streamline your business model, expedite
development and increase efficiency. It's about lowering costs and
establishing closer, more responsive relationships with your customers,
suppliers and partners.
Cafésoft can help you to define and implement your web
identity and access management security strategy. We bring to each
project a wealth of experience along with our web access management
platform, Cams, and its companion identity management product, Cams
Identity. By analyzing your requirements, we can enhance, extend
and customize Cams and Cams Identity to meet the needs of your business.
The end result? While building customer and partner loyalty, you
increase satisfaction by improving process and efficiency, ensure
web application security by centralizing management, and lower the
actual dollar costs of implementing and maintaining web security.
